The Forest Adventure is short FPS game designed to explore modern FPS mechanics including high damage weapons and regenerating health. The game was created in UDK using Unrealscript for custom weapons and enemy AI as well as Kismet integration for scripting elements such as triggering encounters. The game features a custom bow weapon which presents players with a unique tool for dispatching their enemies. Players must aim carefully and calibrate for gravity to achieve maximum success. Decorations in the map are used from Epic's foliage demo map but the map features a custom layout.
The layout of the map features a linear path with encounter sections of enemies. Players are expected to use cover to avoid taking damage and to recover their health over time. Encounters are designed to keep players moving forward through the path and enemies reveal themselves in such a way that keeps players facing in their next movement direction.
The game download includes a UDK installer as well as level design documentation.
Ski Free or Die Hard
SkiFreeOrDieHard is a water skiing game designed and developed using GameMaker's scripting language. The game is based on the snow skiing game Ski Free but is intended to take the principles of the game to a new level.
The gameplay is similar to the original Ski Free in that the skier can go off jumps to earn points and must avoid obstacles. SkiFreeOrDieHard makes several changes on this formula to create a new gameplay experience. The level forcescrolls horizontally and the obstacles and jumps come towards the player. The player only has direct control over the boat and the skier is dragged along behind the boat and responds to the boats movements. The player must maneuver the boat in a fashion that whips the skier onto the jumps or around obstacles. However both the skier and the boat can be destroyed by obstacles. All the jumps and obstacles are procedurally generated which create a new level each time.
If the player successfully moves the skier onto the jumps five times, they charge the HYPER meter which when activated will cause the skier to ignite into a fireball which can destroy obstacles for more points. The player can also pick up fishbait which caused the player to be stuck in a giant wad of fishfood and soon a giant fish comes and eats the player. The fish is then dragged along behind the boat and serves as a one use sheild for the skier.
Undersea Band
The goal of this game is keep the sea enemies from reaching the stage at the bottom of the window. You have 4 band players and you can drag them around the stage to better concentrate your defenses against the enemies. The instruments the band members use shoot out various types of bubbles. Red bubbles work better against green enemies and Green Bubbles work better against red enemies. You gain points when you defeat enemies and can use the points to buy new instruments. Drag the instruments from the instruments panel onto a band player to equip that player with the instruments. Keep an eye out for goldfish, they give you points if they reach the stage safely.
Rain Rain
Use the mouse to move the character and be sure to keep the dragon out of the rain. Use the mouse to open the menu at the bottom of the screen (just move the mouse down below the ground level). Some items are stockable, they will appear in the left hand side of the screen. Click to use. Usable items make the dragon happier and shed more scales. The goal of the game is to shed enough scales to grow new wings and fly away. Being rained upon makes the dragon unhappy and he will shed slower.
